Selling a Massachusetts Cannabis Business
Your business might be worth X to the market and X and change to the one buyer who needs your town, your license type or your brand on their shelf. We go find that buyer. Your name stays with us until you say so.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
We keep it quiet. We don't contact your staff, landlord or lender without your OK. Buyers sign an NDA and tell us what they buy before they hear about you.
We bring buyers who fit. We keep a list of active Massachusetts buyers and what each one is trying to fill: towns, license types, size. We bring you the ones whose interests match what you have.
Not ready yet? Start there. We'll walk you through what a buyer will ask for. Sales stall on things like a lease the landlord won't assign or a lien nobody mentioned, and we've run licensed businesses here, so we look for those early.
HOW IT WORKS
Tell us how to reach you. Four fields. Nothing about your business.
We talk. One of us reaches out the way you asked, and we sign an NDA before you share anything.
Fill in a short questionnaire. Questions about the business, nothing personal. Skip any you'd rather answer by phone.
You decide who learns your name. Buyers under NDA see a description first. We share your name with a buyer only when you say yes.
Every deal we introduce is an asset sale. The buyer buys what the business owns and runs, not equity in your company.
WHO YOU’LL TALK WITH
Jeremy Bromberg, Carl Giannone or Chrissy Cicon. Between us we've run licensed cultivation, manufacturing and retail in Massachusetts, and we're on the Cannabis Control Commission's pre-approved court appointee list.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
We keep your inquiry confidential. Buyers sign an NDA before they hear about you, and they learn your name only after you agree. If a deal moves forward, the Commission's approval process is public.
-
Massachusetts dispensaries, cultivators, product manufacturers, companies that do all three, and medical operators.
-
It can be done. Debts, liens and back taxes shape how a sale comes together, so tell us where things stand on the first call. We'll tell you honestly whether a sale makes sense.
-
We keep the two separate. We never act as finder and receiver on the same business. When a court appoints us receiver, the sale follows the court's process and we don't act as a finder on it.
-
Yes. We can tell you what a buyer would look at today, and you decide what to do with it.
-
Yes, if the license goes to the buyer. A Massachusetts cannabis license can't be transferred without the Cannabis Control Commission's prior approval (935 CMR 500.103(2)(b) for adult use, 935 CMR 501.103(2)(b) for medical). The transfer may also need paperwork tied to your host community agreement. We help you and the buyer plan around that review.
